Siem Reap Angkor International Airport Set for Flight Trials in May, Official Launch in October

The Siem Reap Angkor International Airport and Yunnan Air Investment Cambodia Airport Management committee held a meeting yesterday to confirm the eagerly anticipated flight trials at the airport, set to commence in mid-May, with the official launch scheduled for October.

The Siem Reap Angkor International Airport construction project is being undertaken by Angkor International Airport Investment (Cambodia) Co., Ltd (AIAI) with a massive investment of over $880 million. Once completed, the airport will be classified as a 4E class facility, capable of handling long-haul aircraft, further enhancing its capabilities and connectivity.

Currently, Cambodia has three international airports, located in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap Province, and Preah Sihanouk Province, with the Siem Reap Angkor International Airport serving as a crucial gateway for travellers visiting the world-renowned Angkor Wat temple complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a major tourist attraction in Southeast Asia. The upcoming flight trials and official launch of the airport are eagerly awaited and expected to contribute significantly to the growth of Cambodia's tourism industry and boost economic development in the region.
